YAKIMA, WA. -- The labeling of genetically modified foods is a hot topic on the November ballot and the Yakima City Council plans to discuss Initiative I522 on Tuesday.
The controversial measure would require all genetically modified foods for retail sale to be labeled as such. Supporters say consumers have a right to know while opponents claim the bill would drive up costs for producers. We hit the streets in Yakima to find out what you think.
"Any government regulation is a pain, especially to the small ones like small farmers," Vegetable Farmer Gayle Krueger. "Yeah I think it's going to be a big problem for us."
Washington residents will vote on the bill November 5th.
