Maurilio Lamas Sanchez agrees to a plea deal for killing his wife in 2010.
PENDLETON, OR - A Hermiston man accused of killing his wife 3 years ago has agreed to a plea deal.
The attorney for Maurilio Lamas Sanchez told Judge Christopher Brauer on Monday that his client was ready to accept an offer from the state.
A change-of-plea hearing has been set for October 28th, but the terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Sanchez was charged with murder after his wife, Hilaria Sanchez, was found dead in their mobile home in October 2010.
Police say Sanchez smashed a wine bottle over his wife's head, stabbed her in the chest and used a bandanna to choke her.
Police say it happened in Village Park on 11th Street in
Hermiston. They say the couple had seven children, and that one of those
children was home when Sanchez was killed. The couple had also been married for about 20 years.
