MOSES LAKE, WA. - The Grant County Sheriff's Office is investigating a tractor-trailer collision that killed a Kennewick man.
Deputies say on Monday afternoon, Robert Valdez, 37, of Kennewick was driving a Peterbilt loaded with potatoes along Road 2 Southeast near Moses Lake. Another man from California was driving a Freightliner southbound on Road O Southeast and ran the Road 2 stop sign. Valdez t-boned the trailer behind the Freightliner, tearing the cab off the Peterbilt.
Deputies say Valdez was ejected and died at the scene. The Peterbilt rolled and spilled the load of potatoes. Singh was not hurt.
Investigators say alcohol and drugs are not a factor in the collision. Singh will be mailed a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign.
