McKenzie Mott's Family Releases Statement

Statement from the Mott Family:

· "McKenzie Mott's tragic end is the stone that the Lord has thrown into the pond of life we all live in, and its ripples have touched all of us in this community in some way.

· The Mott Family would like to acknowledge and thank the Spokane community, the Central Valley School District family, the University High School family, the Central Valley High family, soccer family, friends and relatives for their outpouring of love, care and support. We are so blessed to be a part of this community.

· We would also like to send our thoughts and prayers to the Freier and Maher Family during this difficult time."

Memorial Service & Burial

A public memorial service for McKenzie Mott will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Spokane Valley (3606 S. Schafer Rd). It will be followed by a reception. A burial service will take place late Saturday afternoon at St. Joseph's Cemetery (17825 E. Trent) in Spokane Valley.

If you wish to make a donation in memory of McKenzie Mott, the family says you can do so by sending a donation to the Redeemer Lutheran Church - Vacation Bible School (3606 S Schafer Rd - Spokane Valley, WA 99206) - where McKenzie and Josie Freier solidified their friendship, shared their passion for the Lord and loved to help children. You can do this individually or through the McKenzie Mott Memorial Fund at any area Washington Trust Bank branch.

    LOS ANGELES - Operation Jungle Book, a law enforcement initiative led by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service that targeted wildlife smuggling, has resulted in federal criminal charges against 16 defendants who allegedly participated in the illegal importation and/or transportation of numerous animal species – including a tiger, monitor lizards, cobras, Asian “lucky” fish, exotic songbirds and several coral species.

    NYSA, Poland - Security camera footage of three teens going above and beyond to help a homeless man is going viral, and the three boys are being praised for doing what they could to help a homeless man in the town of Nysa in Poland. In the video released by Nysa Police show the three boys walking down the street with a blanket, then putting it over a bench, apparently tucking the man in to sleep.
