KENNEWICK, WA. - Starbucks coffee shops nationwide are encouraging lawmakers to come together and resolve their political gridlock, by giving away coffee to customers who set an example how to do it.

Wednesday, October 9th through Friday October 11th, Starbucks is offering a free tall brewed coffee to any customer in the country who buys another person a drink.

The company's CEO says the offer is a way to help fellow citizens "support and connect with one another, even as we wait for our elected officials to do the same for our country."

A retail analyst says the offer won't likely do much to change attitudes in Washington D.C., but could make for great marketing.

Starbucks says the offer is available at all free standing stores. Starbucks inside other stores (for example, those inside Albertsons, Safeway, Barnes and Noble, etc.) are not included.
