Victim's Name: Richard Van Heel

Defendant's Name: Christopher Heckman

Summary of Incident:
On 10/09/2013 at 1835 hours Kennewick Police officers responded to the area of 27th Ave. and Olympia St. for a hit and run collision that had just occurred. Richard Van Heel reported that he was driving south on Olympia St. when he attempted to make a right turn into the Yokes parking lot. Van Heel's vehicle was struck from the rear by the vehicle directly behind him.


After the collision, the suspect vehicle drove through the Yokes parking lot and was last seen driving south on Olympia St. at high speed with the hood up. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect vehicle.


At 0005 hours Kennewick Police officers were in the area of 27th Ave. and Olympia St. on an unrelated call. During this time they observed the suspect vehicle driving north on Olympia St. again with the hood up and the engine smoking. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Christopher Heckman.


Heckman was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of DUI and hit and run.

LeMaster was wanted in connection with the June 6, 2015 Armed robbery that took place in the parking lot of Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick, Washington.     On 4/23/2015 at 19:45 Shopko employees saw Jackie Sue Rolph concealing merchandise in a large bag. She left the story without paying for the items to a vehicle waiting for her in the parking log. She entered the vehicle and left the area. A KPD officer arrived in the area and saw the vehicle. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the occupants. A search warrant was served on the vehicle and all the stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to Shopko.
