KENNEWICK, WA - A Kennewick man is behind bars after a hit and run Wednesday night.
Kennewick Police say Christopher Heckman had been drinking when he rear ended a driver near the Yoke's Fresh Market grocery store on 27th Avenue around 6:30pm. Then, Heckman sped off through the parking lot.
Luckily, the driver wasn't hurt.
Heckman was last seen driving south on Olympia Street at a high speed with the hood up. Just after midnight, Kennewick Police were in the area of 27th Avenue and Olympia Street on a unrelated call.
Police saw Heckman driving north on Olympia Street again with the hood up and the engine smoking. Heckman was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of DUI and hit and run.
