Yakima Police Cracking Down on Panhandling at Certain Intersections

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, WA.--After giving panhandlers a fair warning, Yakima Police are now starting to cite people for taking items from cars at certain intersections.

The City Council passed a resolution last month, criminalizing the action of taking items from vehicles at intersections like 40th Avenue and Summitview and South 1st Street and Nob Hill.

The city said these intersections have the highest accident rates.
