YAKIMA, WA. -- A new food co-op in Yakima is helping people get healthy food on the cheap.
The local group got the idea from a co-op in Ellensburg. Now every other Saturday dozens of families take home a full basket of fruit and vegetables for just $15.
"It helps us get good fresh fruits and vegetables directly from the marketers without having to go to the grocery store every week," volunteer Renae Lacey said. "So I haven't actually bought a lot of fruit and vegetables in the grocery store for a couple months now."
