Rep. McMorris Rodgers Answers Your Shutdown Questions

Posted: Updated:

NBCRIGHTNOW.COM - NBC Right Now continues to get answers to your Government Shutdown questions. We spoke with Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers Tuesday.

The Congresswoman had a lot to say about communication. It is something she has done a lot of recently. She explained that part of her work during the shutdown is speaking with her constituents and meeting with the press. Representative McMorris Rodgers has been on most of the cable news networks and at many news conferences alongside other GOP leaders. We asked viewers on facebook what you want to hear from one of our representatives and then posed those questions to the congresswoman Tuesday morning.

"This is really a golden opportunity that we have," said McMorris Rodgers "The American people expect us as Republicans and Democrats to come to the table, have that give and take and come up with a solution so that we can move forward on the issues of the day."

Many comments on facebook showed our viewers wanted to know what was being done to end the shutdown. McMorris Rodgers told us she was part of a group that visited with the president at the white house for discussions. She said sometimes one on one conversation with members of congress and the senate are key.

"I am hopeful that in the next few days, few hours..that we will figure out a way forward. The sooner the better," she said.

It could be coming sooner. According to the Associated Press, the house aims to vote Tuesday night to reopen the government and avoid a default.
