Man Robbed For $10.00; Police Searching For Suspects

Man Robbed For $10.00

This morning, October 16th, 2013, at 2:00 a.m., Spokane Valley Sheriff's Deputies responded to Denny's Restaurant at Sprague and Pines on a robbery call. The victim said he was walking northbound on Pines from Sprague when he was approached by two males. He described the first as a white male, around 17 years old, 5'4", 120 pounds, wearing a red and white sweatshirt and dark pants. The second was described as a black male, unknown age, 5'4", 130-140 pounds, wearing a dark cap and possibly dark pants.

The victim said the two suspects were walking southbound on Pines towards him. When they reached the victim, the white male asked him if he wanted to buy some cigarettes from him. The victim agreed. All three walked to the area of Riverside and Houk when the white male acted like he was retrieving cigarettes from his coat.

The victim took a ten dollar bill out of his wallet. The white male grabbed the money from the victim's hand and punched him one time in the face. The black male suspect punched the victim one time in the face well. Both suspects ran eastbound on Riverside.

Spokane Police K-9 Officer Craig Hamilton responded to assist. He and his K-9 partner tracked the suspects east on Riverside near an apartment complex at 110 N. Houk. They located items of clothing in bushes that the victim said the suspects were wearing. They were not able to locate the suspects.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for anyone providing information leading to an arrest in this incident. Persons with information should call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-222-TIPS, or should forward the tip via the Internet website www.CrimeStoppersInlandNorthwest.org. Tipsters do not have to give their name to collect the cash reward.
