Spokane Police Investigating Drive-By Shooting In NE Spokane

SPOKANE POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE

Spokane Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred just before 10:00 last night. The shooting appears to have stemmed from an argument and confrontation between two individuals outside a home in the 2900 block of E. Joseph. One male was shot the other male and fled the scene. SPD is looking for the shooting suspect.

Last night at 9:47 pm Spokane Police officers responded to a call from a female stating that her boyfriend had been shot. Upon arrival, officers located the adult male victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his arm. He was treated on-scene and transported to the hospital.

Based on information gathered by patrol officers at the scene, the event was an apparent confrontation between the victim and another male (who police are working to locate). The confrontation ensued when with the victim was standing on the sidewalk in front of his house and a car drove past the address. The male in the car fired a single shot, striking the victim in the arm before speeding off.

This case has been assigned to Spokane Police Major Crimes for investigation. A suspect description is as follows:
  • African American male
  • 30-35 years old
  •  Driving a black Monte Carlo with tinted windows and dark rims (late 1990s to 2000 model)
