Rep. Doc Hastings Speaks Out on House Vote to Reopen Government
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Doc Hastings (R-WA) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 2775:
"A government shutdown is not sustainable for our community or our nation − neither is blindly continuing down the path of spending more than the government has each year. The Senate's short-term plan was not the solution I would have written. While far from perfect, this deal is a temporary necessity to get the government up and running again. I have voted more than 40 times to repeal, defund and dismantle Obamacare, and the fight to reverse the skyrocketing costs and loss of benefits that Obamacare has inflicted on American families is far from over.
"In the coming weeks, I will continue to advocate for real reform that reins in our national debt by addressing runaway spending, makes the federal government operate within its means, and provides fairness for our job creators and all Americans under the law."
