Cougar Basketball Participates in Pac-12 Media Day

SAN FRANCISCO - Washington State University basketball head coach Ken Bone and junior guard DaVonté Lacy participated in Pac-12 Media Day held at the Pac-12 Networks' studios in San Francisco.

The day started with a head coaches' meeting for Bone, followed by officiating sessions for both the coaches and student-athletes. Following the rules run-through, Bone and Lacy both participated in individual one-on-one interviews with national and local TV and radio networks. They both appeared on up on the stage in the opposite wing of the Networks studios during mid-morning. The day concluded with lunch and more one-on-one interviews with writers from throughout the country.

Earlier in the day the 2013-14 preseason media poll was released, as Arizona was picked to win the conference with 273 points, according to a poll of media members who cover Pac-12 men's basketball. Washington State was selected to finish 12th tallying 39 points. The Wildcats received 21 of the 23 first-place votes with 61 more points than UCLA, which was picked to finish second with 212 points. Colorado was one point away from UCLA with 211, picked to finish third. The Buffaloes were followed by Oregon (fourth, 196), California (fifth, 194), Stanford (sixth, 166), Arizona State (seventh, 159), Washington (eighth, 121), Utah (ninth, 68), Oregon State (10th, 67) and USC (11th, 63).

The Cougars host Central Washington in exhibition action, Friday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m., before opening the season with CSU Bakersfield, Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum.
