Pasco Presents Plans to Widen Argent Road, Add Sidewalks
PASCO, WA --
The City of Pasco wants the green light from the public on a proposed road project.
The city held an open house for the Argent Road Corridor Project Thursday night. The proposal would target Argent Road from 20th Avenue to Road 40. Crews would widen the road to 5 lanes, install a median, sidewalks and pathways to alleviate congestion and keep up with future growth.
"As the area grows and more development happens along the port, I want to make sure we accommodate that. Also, as you know ,the airport is growing so this will help current and future demand for the roadway," said City of Pasco Public Works Director Ahmad Qayoumi.
At the open house, people were able to get an up close look at the plans and ask questions. The city plans to apply for grants to pay for the project, and hopes to break ground next spring.
