CBC Student Heads Up Wresting Club But Needs More Man Power

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, WA.-  Drive, determination, and love for the sport.  That's what it took for one Columbia Basin College student to bring wrestling on campus.

Gilbert Mendoza, a sophomore at the college has spent the last three weeks building his case to start up a wrestling club to the college's club board and recently just got it approved.

Now, he just needs the man power behind the club.

Tuesday, October 22nd, Mendoza and other potential wrestling club members will have their first official team meeting in front of the club board.

So, they're reaching out to CBC students interested in the sport to join their club team.

"I put a lot of time and effort into the sport and coming to CBC knowing they didn't have wrestling, I felt like I had to step up and do something about it," said Mendoza.

Mendoza says if you are interested in becoming a team mate and you are a student at CBC, they want to hear from you.

The new club team is also looking for coaches and sponsorship.

You can contact Mendoza through the "CBC Hawk Wrestling" facebook page for more information.
