PASCO, Wash. - NBC Right Now always partners with the Salvation Army this team of year to get coats for kids.
The racks of coats at Pasco's Salvation Army are bare. Office Manager Anet Medina said they've given away more than 1,000 coats since the beginning of the month. That's double last year's numbers.
"We really want the community to know that without their support this program cannot function. Can't work. Gently used, new, doesn't fit anymore, bring it on over to Salvation Army or any local barrels," said Medina.
Yakima's Salvation Army has received a total of fewer than 100 coats and those are expected to be gone by Friday night.
Coats for boys, girls and even adults can be donated or picked up all over the region. That information can be found here.
