Washington Health Plan Finder Bus Stops in Yakima

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, WA. -- Washington Health Plan Finder outfitted a full size bus with Internet access to help people chose, in person, the right health care plan for them and their family.

Officials say that problems from heavy traffic on the Health Care Website during the first day of availability have been worked out. Ten health care professionals were inside the health care bus Sunday signing up individuals and families with health insurance. Based on the people we spoke with, there are many different reasons to sign up using the public market place.

"Myself I'm covered by the VA," Roy Anderson said. "But still, the children? They're not covered under VA, so we need some type of insurance."

"Today, I signed up for health care and it was my first health care insurance not under my parents," Jessica Serrano said.

Overall, the professionals of the bus helped fill out 45 applications for health insurance and scheduled 30 more future appointments.
