Kittitas Co. Man Dies After Being Pinned Between Truck and Garage

Posted: Updated:

KITTITAS COUNTY, WA. - The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office is investigating following a fatal accident at a home along Lake Kachess Road.

The Washington State Patrol went to the home around 9 a.m. Monday and found Louie Gracey, 57, pinned between his garage and his truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies say they believe Gracey may have gotten out of his truck while it was still in drive and then tried to reenter while it was moving. The truck continued into the already open garage door pinning Gracey between the driver's side door and the truck.

The neighbor who found Gracey told deputies the truck was still in drive and running. So he backed it up and freed Gracey from the door before paramedics and law enforcement arrived.
