RICHLAND, WA. - NBC Right Now was there when an Airman first class arrived home early from training to surprise his girlfriend and propose to her.
Marissa Ray had not seen her boyfriend in months because he was at training in Mississippi. She expected him to come home on Friday. But instead, Brenton Edwards snuck up behind her outside the Coffee Bean in Richland on Wednesday and got down on one knee.
She said yes!
"I think it went well. I made her cry, so what more could I ask for," Brenton said.
Operation Thank You was also on hand for the special ceremony. The young couple says they plan to get married in just a few weeks before moving to Denver to start their lives together.
