RICHLAND, WA -  Richland residents had several questions for city leaders at a town hall meeting about the city's 2014 budget.

City leaders held a town hall meeting Thursday night at the Library. The proposed budget includes several major projects planned for the upcoming year.

Those projects include making John Dam Plaza more of a town square with a dedicated performance area and audience seating.

The big project is building a new fire station in the Queensgate-Duportail area. There are two options to pay for it.

"One of which is to increase the ambulance fee of $2.32 and we're also looking at increasing the utility tax, an additional 1.1.% on your utility tax which is about a little less than one dollar for an average residential home," said Trisha Herron with the City of Richland.
