Kennewick Police Investigating Shooting Along S. Newport Street

UPDATE / KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police have released more details about a shooting Friday night that injured two people. 


Officers say around 11:30, 31-year-old Steven Kravarik and 19-year-old Juan Simiano were at Kravarik's home, when several people wearing masks kicked in the front door, forced the two men to the ground, and demanded Kravarik's medical marijuana.  

Police say one the suspects struck Simiano in the head with a pistol. Officers say another shot Kravarik through the arm, but the bullet traveled into his neck. 

The suspects ran off before police arrived, but officers are searching for them. 

Paramedics took Kravarik and Simiano to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.



KENNEWICK, WA - NBC Right Now was the first on the scene of a shooting in Kennewick along South Newport Street around 11:30 Friday night.

Kennewick police are looking for the people who shot one person and injured another.

Police said when they arrived at the home on the 1100 hundred block of south newport street, officers found one person with a gunshot wound and another with head injuries.

The victims told police several men they did not know forced their front door open, robbed them and assaulted them.

Paramedics took the two people to the hospital. No word yet on their conditions.
