Police Searching for Man After 4 Year Old Boy Shot in Ontario
ONTARIO, OR - Police in Ontario, Oregon are looking for a man who may have been involved in an accidental shooting that sent a 4 year old boy to the hospital.
Police have issued a felony warrant for 33 year old Juan Jose Moreno-Alvarez from Ontario and Pasco, Wa. Police say Moreno-Alvarez should be considered armed and dangerous.
The 4-year-old boy was injured late Saturday night when a gun discharged inside an Ontario apartment. He is being treated at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Ontario. Police say the injury to the boy's arm is not believed to be life-threatening.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting, but say witnesses are not cooperating.
After obtaining a search warrant, police searched the apartment.
They found a firearm and property stolen in recent burglaries in the area.
It has not yet been determined if the firearm they recovered from the apartment is the one that injured the boy.
