KENNEWICK, WA - NBC Right Now was the first news team on scene of an apartment fire tonight that left two units damaged.

Fire crews were dispatched around 7PM on Monday to  the 1100 block of North Cleveland Street in Kennewick.

We're told the fire started in an upstairs unit and caused some damage to the unit next door.

The two bottom floor apartments were not damaged.

"We had to pull the ceiling to access the attic space and we spread salvage tarps down to try to minimize the impact of that to the residence," said Kennewick Fire Department Capt. Tom Reich.

The fire didn't cause any injuries. The Kennewick Fire Department says the residents should be back in  their units soon.
