Seattle Police Don't Discriminate, Pull Over Speeding bicyclists

Posted: Updated:

SEATTLE, WA. Seattle police say officers pulled over several people this week for speeding through the school zone at B.F. Day Elementary School.

The speeders rode bicycles.

The school zone is on a downhill slope, and the officers on patrol says the bicyclists exceeded the 20 mph limit.

Police say they don't discriminate among speeders. They hand out tickets to bicycle riders as well as vehicle drivers.

Bicycle riders do get a break on the ticket. The fine is $103, compared to a $189 citation for vehicles speeding in a school zone.
