WHITMAN CO, WA - The Whitman County Sheriff's Office has issued an arrest warrant for a 30-year-old Pasco man.

David Scott Margerison is accused of physically and sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint in a remote location of Whitman County. Authorities sought the arrest warrant over the weekend.

The victim told officers that earlier in October, Margerison drove her from Clarkston to the location in Whitman County where she assaulted. The victim claimed Margerison also threatened her, saying he would kill both her and her family if she testified in an upcoming narcotics trial.

Based on the serious nature of the assaults and the threats to harm her family, authorities believe the victim was initially afraid to report the crime.

Margerison is currently being held in the Asotin County Jail and he is expected to be extradited to Whitman County later this week. Margerison will be facing charges of first degree assault, first degree rape, kidnapping, witness intimidation and threats to kill.

The investigation is still ongoing.
