Postal Service Expects Increase in Package Deliveries
NBCRightNow.com - The U.S. Postal Service says it'll deliver nearly 15 billion pieces of mail and 420 million packages during the holiday season.
Officials from the Postal Service said Wednesday that it expects letters to decline slightly while package deliveries between Thanksgiving and December 31st will rise 12% over last year.
The post office expects the busiest mailing day to be Monday, December 16th, and the busiest day for packages to be Thursday, December 19th.
The Postal Service is selling a special holiday stamp featuring gingerbread houses, and it's looking to increase sales of online services that let customers print shipping labels and buy postage at home.
