MILTON-FREEWATER, Ore. - Pleasant View Alternative School students will not have school the remainder of the week after a custodian found a bullet hole in the front door of their school building.

The InterMountain Education Service District says students and staff were sent home Wednesday morning as a precautionary measure.

The custodian found the bullet hole around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. He then found the bullet lodged inside a rear door down the hall. No one was inside when it happened, and no one was hurt.

Pleasant View Principal Suzy Mayes says the incident must have happened overnight because she left the school around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and nothing had occurred.

The Umatilla County Sheriff's Office is now investigating and are reviewing security camera footage.
