MOXEE, WA - NBC Right Now is working to get answers about an open investigation involving two teachers at East Valley.
The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction is investigating two East Valley High School teachers and coaches for claims of misconduct. OSPI confirmed the names of the people under investigation are Mack Mochel and Dwaine Morrison.
The school district tells NBC Right Now that the two men haven't been placed on administrative leave and that they would make no further comment.
OSPI says they'll determine whether or not to dismiss the allegations, create a record, or suspend or even revoke their teaching certificates. The claims of misconduct were filed at the end of September.
"More specifically, we received a complaint from the district. The district has done their initial investigation and feels that there is enough evidence for us to do further investigation," said Nathan Olson, OSPI Communications Manager.
OSPO says the investigation will take about 13 to 19 months. They say they currently have about 110 open investigations of teachers around the state and only five investigators.
That limited number is affecting the year long delay.
