YAKIMA, WA. - A man from Moxee is dead after an accident early Friday morning just west of Yakima.

Washington state troopers say around 4 a.m., 27-year-old Timoteo Ontiberos was driving along Ahtanum Road when he veered off the roadway. His van rolled and landed on its top. Ontiberos and his passenger, 28-year-old Jaime Santillan from Moxee, were ejected from the van.

Santillan died at the scene. Paramedics airlifted Ontiberos to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Troopers believe drugs or alcohol were involved. The two were not wearing their seatbelts. The accident is still under investigation and charges are pending.
