Holmberg Hat Trick Propels Chiefs To Third Straight Road Win

Mitch Holmberg scored two of his three goals during the Spokane Chiefs' third period four-goal onslaught in Lethbridge to blow by the Hurricanes 6-2 on Friday night. 

The Canes jumped out to an early 2-1 lead in the 2nd thanks to Giorgio Estephan's and Russell Maxwell's shots finding the back of Garrett Hughson's net. 

Spokane's Carter Proft scored in the 1st period to keep the Chiefs in the game. Holmberg scored the equalizer in the second and then began the rally early in the third. Adam Helewka scored and assisted on Holmberg's final goal. Jackson Playfair scored his second goal of the season when the game was already in the books. 

The Chiefs have won games one and two of their three-game road trip and will look for the road sweep when they play the Ice in Kootenay tomorrow. 

Spokane's will host Prince George next Friday, Nov. 15, at 7:05 PST in its next home game.
