ARLINGTON, OR - The Oregon State Police Arson Unit and the Gilliam County Sheriff's Office are investigating a fire that destroyed a church in Arlington.
Deputies say they're trying to figure out how the fire started at the Arlington Oregon Church of the Nazarene at 600 Main Street early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters from Arlington, Condon, Boardman, and Sherman County responded around 4:30 AM to knock down the flames. No injuries have been reported.
Deputies say the church was undergoing repairs from an early morning suspicious fire back in July of this year, but investigators aren't sure if the two fires are related.
The church was built back in the 1890s, making it the oldest building in downtown Arlington.
