Rankin Re-Signs With The Fever

Posted: Updated:

The Tri-Cities Fever would like to announce the re-signing of Defensive Lineman Brandon Rankin (6'4" 270 lbs.).

Brandon played in the last 11 games along the defensive line for the Fever in 2013. He amassed 33 tackles 22 of those were solo and had 6.0 sacks which ranked 2nd on the team and 9th in the IFL. Coach Adam Shackleford is glad to have Brandon back for a full season in 2014, "When Brandon Rankin came to us in the middle of last season our defense became instantly better. He is very strong and holds off our opponents inside run game. He is also quick for his size allowing him to pressure the QB." Coach added that character matters for his teams, and Brandon fits that as well, "Off the field a great locker room guy and any time you can find an outstanding player from a local college that's a plus."

Brandon played college ball at Washington State University where he was All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention his senior season and spent time with the Detroit Lions before coming to the Tri-Cities Fever in 2013. Brandon is from Shallotte, North Carolina and attended West Brunswick High School.
