UPDATE: State Route 221 Reopens after Crash

NEW INFORMATION:  State Troopers have released the name of the woman involved in an accident near the intersection of SR 221 and Anderson Road Wednesday morning.

  They say 24 year old Amanda Fejes of Paterson was driving too fast in foggy conditions when the Jeep Liberty she was driving hit a semi-truck and trailer backing in to a business at about 9:00 am.

  Paramedics took Fejes to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with serious but non-life threatening injuries. 

  The highway was closed until about 10:30 am.

 

UPDATE: State Route 221 has reopened south of Prosser after a crash between a Jeep and a semi truck near Sunheaven Farms and Anderson Road.

We're hearing reports the driver of the Jeep suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

PROSSER, WA - We're hearing reports that the Washington State Department of Transportation has closed State Route 221 south of Prosser because of a crash. 

Dispatchers say SR 221 is closed near Sunheaven Farms on Gwinn Road. No word yet when the roadway will reopen. 

Dispatchers sent emergency responders and paramedics to the area of SR 221, near Sellards Road and Anderson Road around 9:00 Wednesday morning.
