Nancy Galliher at River's edge High School wins the Classroom Makeover
RICHLAND, WA. –A teacher
at River's Edge High School has won this month's Classroom Makeover.
Galliher teaches language, fine arts, and
science at the Independent Learning program. Galliher's students do a lot of
their class work on line, so Galliher is trying to make her classroom look like
a cyber café. Recently she found a deal
"I kind of got a tip they were
selling furniture so my husband and I pooled some personal money and bought
these tables and brought them into the classroom," Galliher says.
Spending her own money is nothing
new for Galliher, who has been teaching for 20 years, the past five at the
"All teachers put a lot of heart and
soul and personal money into their classroom,' she says. "It's part of the

with more than 100 students.
For her makeover, Galliher receives $250 from
Kadlec Health Systems. She says she would like to add some artwork to the walls
and maybe buy a coffee pot for the classroom/café.
