Before & After Photos Of The Devastation From Typhoon Haiyan

KHQ - These before and after photos were taken by Digital Globe First Look, an online service that provides satellite imagery of large scale disasters. The satellites collected more than 7,300 square miles of imagery in the areas hit hardest by the typhoon - one of the strongest storms ever to make landfall.

The before photos were taken on February 23, 2012 and the after photos were taken on November 10, 2013 after Haiyan wiped out Tacloban, the city in the direct path of the ferocious storm.

The Labor Department says claims for jobless aid dropped by 22,000 to 222,000, fewest since March 1973. The less volatile four-week average slid by 9,500 to 248,250, lowest since late August.
