PASCO, WA-- The Washington Health Benefit Exchange says mores that 77,000 people have registered for healthcare coverage in Washington since the healthplanfinder website launched on October 1st.

Community Action Connection in Pasco is helping more people sign up for healthcare coverage and administrators say there's no sign of things slowing down.

Initial glitches in the Washington Healthplanfinder website have been fixed allowing local assisters to catch up on the backlog of people seeking their help.

Those early website problems kept some local assisters from getting their system log-in set up.

But now, nearly all of the 80 local assisters are set up and ready to help people waiting to enroll.

"More people have tried to go on to the site itself and when they've had problems they've call us up. So the volume has not decreased and we don't expect it to decrease even through the end of the year," said Wesley Luckey, Community Action Connection.

Luckey says he expects to see a steady increase in people looking for help with the healthplanfinder website to get coverage beginning in January.

He says the Washington Health Benefit Exchange is working to make the site more efficient, but people in Washington are much better off than those trying to use the federal site.
