The Tri-City Union Gospel Mission is seriously lacking turkeys this year.
PASCO, WA - Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing - some things that are considered staples at your Thanksgiving dinner. But some might be going without this holiday season without your help.
The Tri-City Union Gospel Mission is seriously lacking turkeys this year. On average, they give out 300 food boxes for Thanksgiving and another 300 for Christmas. On top of that, they offer banquets for both of those holidays at their site in Pasco.
So, the Mission needs about 700 turkeys, in all. Right now, they only have 100.
Food Services Director Jerry Jones said they need your help to help others.
"This is kind of a tradition for us. We put together a thanksgiving basket, which is going to have everything you would put on a normal table for a thanksgiving meal, including the turkey. This year we're doing pretty well with all the other items," said Jones.
Saturday is the annual Columbia Point Golf Course Turkey Shoot and organizers are asking golfers there to bring extra turkeys, if they can.
If you want to help out, you can donate turkeys at any time at the Union Gospel Mission at 112 2nd Street in Pasco.
