16 Year Old Boy Killed During Family Hunting Trip

Pend Oreille - Deputies in Pend Oreille says a 16 year old boy was out hunting with his family Friday afternoon when he was accidentally shot and killed.

It happened just after 4p.m. on the 1800 block of Deer Valley Road.  The boy has been identified as Sergio Tinajero of Yakima.  Tinajero was announced dead at the scene.  Family members are cooperating with authorities.  Officials say the land the family was hunting on is a popular area; it's owned by a timber company. 

No charges have been filed at this time.  The Pend Oreille Sheriff's office asks if you were hunting in the Deer Valley area around 4p.m. November 15, please call them with any information you may have.

Kathy Kohlieber broke her pelvis and had to be sent to Multicare Valley Hospital. She’s been there since the incident Saturday evening around 5 p.m. Kathy says she went to Walmart, “to get a bag of Cosmos caramel corn, which is so good.”

    PULLMAN, Wash. - Following the loss of Washington State quarterback Tyler Hilinski, business in the Pullman area are coming together for a good cause.  Several Pullman restaurants, bars and coffee shops are participating in the Dine Out for #3 event on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in an effort to start a conversation about suicide prevention, raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, including depression.
