Richland Golfers Bring Birdies for Annual Turkey Shoot

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, WA-- The 15th Annual Columbia Point Golf Course Turkey Shoot hit the green this morning to help people in need this holiday season.

Around 150 golfers came out to the event and each brought a frozen turkey for the Tri-City Union Gospel Mission to feed people at their holiday banquets.

People from the Union Gospel Mission say they depend on this charity event each year to contribute to their holiday meals.

"This is an event every year that we know that they're behind us and they bring a lot of turkeys and that really is a big boost for the events we have at the mission. It helps a lot of people in this community,"said Andrew Porter, Union Gospel Mission.

Porter says the mission needs 700 turkeys this year. The Turkey Shoot is a big help, but they still need more.

If you want to help out, you can donate to the mission, which is located at 112 2nd Street in Pasco.
