YAKIMA, WA. -- A two garage fire on South Naches Avenue in Yakima early this morning caused tens of thousands of dollars in damages.
Two cars were destroyed and homes near the blaze were evacuated. The family who owns the cars used them to get to work. Without them they say they don't know how they will be able to make a living. In all, the property losses are estimated at $40,000.
"(We) were just here for work," Alvaro Lopez said through a translator. "But now (we) have no way to get back. It's all (we) had and that was (our) means of transportation for work."
Neighbors tell NBC Right Now they are suspicious of the cause of the fire. A few months ago a house right down the street was destroyed by a fire that was later determined to be arson. Firefighters are still investigating this fire.
