UPDATE/UNION GAP, WA -- Former Union Gap Mayor Jim Lemon has recently had some run-ins with the law. He's back behind bars less than a week after his DUI arrest.

Police were called to Lemon's parent's house in Yakima late Sunday night after officers said he locked himself inside and allegedly destroyed their property.

"He was non-compliant," said Captain Rod Light with the Yakima Police Department. "Would not allow them in the residence. Officers actually had to breach the door to get inside the residence to get him."

Lemon was scheduled to be in court Monday morning, but police said his uncooperative and strange behavior remains the same.

"He sat naked in his cell, unresponsive to questions," said the prosecutor during court proceedings. "He'd just smile and stare."

"Due to his behavior, he's currently being held in an individual cell, which we commonly refer to as a rubber room," said Captain Light.

Lemon faces charges of domestic violence, malicious mischief, trespass and obstructing officers. In court, prosecutors said Lemon appeared to be under the influence of some type of drug and asked the judge to set a higher bail.

"I have some concerns about community safety at this point," said the prosecutor. "So I'd ask the court to set bail in the amount higher than standard."

Bail is set at $30,000.

Lemon's mother said the family has no comment at this time.
