New "Kadlec Way" Connector Street Opens in Richland
The City of Richland and Kadlec Regional Medical Center celebrated the opening of a short piece of road near the hospital Monday morning.
RICHLAND, WA - The City of Richland and Kadlec Regional Medical Center celebrated the opening of a short piece of road near the hospital Monday morning.
Kadlec paid for the new "Kadlec Way" between Jadwin Avenue and Gilmore Street in exchange for permission to shut down a part of Goethals Drive on the hospital's busy campus.
The Richland City Council and Kadlec agreed the project will help with future expansion planned for the area.
Kadlec Health Systems President & CEO Rand Wortman said, "When the other two buildings are done there will be a lot of traffic coming in on this side of the campus, so it just makes it easier to access and easier to park. You can park at the front door instead of having to be a block or two blocks away and everybody wins."
Drivers that need to get north or south through this area will need to use Jadwin Ave., Gilmore Ave. or Stevens Drive.
