On 11/17/13 at approximately 10:00 AM, Yakima PD responded to multiple locations in the city for a report of an explosive device left at a grocery store with multiple locations in the city. As officers were responding to check the listed stores, a male robbed one of the tellers at the Fred Meyers store. The male displayed a handgun during the robbery and left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers were in the area and were able to arrest the robbery suspect at the scene after a brief foot pursuit. There were no reported injuries. Officers located an undisclosed amount of money in the suspect's possession. The firearm used during the robbery has not been located. The suspect is a 36 year old male. The investigation will be ongoing to determine if the suspect had any accomplices.
