KENNEWICK, WA - Police are constantly on the lookout for felons and suspects, but sometimes their best leads come from viewers like you.

Crime Stoppers has adapted over the years. Now with the use of social media they can get the word out even faster. Crime specialists we spoke with today in the Tri-Cities say that they sometimes get tips sent in just moments after they post one of their notices. Already this year they have received 450 helpful tips. Those resulted in 83 arrests and the clearing of more than 230 different cases.

"Crime Stoppers gives the community the ability to be able to see things, to report it anonymously and really the reward part of it is really not that significant," said Mike Blatman of Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers.

Blatman went on to tell us that while a cash reward is usually attached to a Crime Stopper post. Most people in the Tri-Cities who respond with good tips actually refuse to take the cash.
