FINLEY, WA - NBC Right Now was the first news crew on the scene of a fire that destroyed a wood shed and a tree house in Finley Tuesday night.

The fire started with a wood shed behind a home along East Perkins Road and spread to a tree house.

Firefighters got the call just before 7PM Tuesday and when they arrived, the wood shed was completely engulfed. A Benton County Fire District #1 spokesman says the cause of the fire was a burn pile from Monday.

"Those embers can actually hold over and simply smolder undetected for a while. And while temperatures warm up in the course of the day, maybe a little wind gets behind it, then a fire can pop out of there," Capt. Jeff Ripley explained to NBC Right Now.

A couple of other trees were burnt, but no other buildings were damaged.

Luckily, no one was injured.
