Fever Signs Garcia

Posted: Updated:

Kennewick, WASH - The Tri-Cities Fever would like to announce the re-signing of Defensive Lineman Pablo Garcia (6'2" 295 lbs.).

Garcia was with the Fever in training camp last year but tore a triceps muscle and had to be placed on season ending IR. Coach Adam Shackleford is glad to have another chance with Garcia in the lineup this season, as he had shown great flashes in camp before his injury. "Pablo is a tremendous player. He sustained an injury last year in camp that put him out for the season. Before that injury we believe he was going to play a lot of football for us." Coach Shackleford said, "He is healthy now and very driven to make a difference on our defensive line."

Garcia was an academic All-WAC at San Jose State University. Playing all four seasons for the Spartans, he earned Defensive Lineman of the Year for them in 2009. He had 63 Tackles, 11 Tackles for Loss, and 7 Sacks along the defensive line for the Spartans; playing both defensive tackle and defensive end. He then spent time in camp with the Utah Blaze of the AFL. Garcia is from Mountain View, California and attended Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose.
