You Can Help 'Brand' the Tri-Cities

KENNEWICK, WA - What comes to mind when you think of the Tri-Cities? That's what a local group is hoping to find out to bring more tourism to the area and they need your help.

"What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" or how about "I heart New York." Those are words and symbols that have become synonymous with those cities: Las Vegas and New York City.

TRIDEC, the Chamber of Commerce and the Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau are hoping to find out what that is for our region.

They have a survey online and a group of 13 people, a branding committee, working on it.

The survey is simple, just nine questions, and is meant for both people who live here and visitors, as well.

"What is standing out the most. What's setting us apart. What is in the mentality of visitors and residents of who we are as a Tri-Cities region," said President and CEO of the Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau, Kris Watkins.

Branding has proved difficult for this area because of the fact there are four cities, two counties and three port districts.

The agencies have even hired a consultant who will help along the way.

You have until December 31st to fill out the survey.
