Pangos Named To Naismith Trophy Early Season Top 50

by Gonzaga Athletics

ATLANTA, Ga. – Gonzaga University junior guard, Kevin Pangos, is one of the 50 players on the early-season 2014 Naismith Trophy Watch List.

The 50-player watch list was compiled by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors, which based its criteria on player performances from the previous year and expectations for the 2013-14 college basketball season. The winner will be announced April 6, 2014, in Atlanta.

Through the first three games of the season the native of Holland Landing, Ontario, is averaging 16.0 ppg and 3.7 assists per game. He’s also a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line.

It’s the second straight season Pangos has been on the list.

The Mid-Season Top 30 will be announced in February with the four finalists selected in March.
