YAKIMA, WA -- Friday, local members of the media came together in Yakima for a good cause and some tough competition.

It was the 10th Annual Celebrity Turkey Bowl at Grocery Outlet.

Teams of three competed to see who could get the most strikes by throwing frozen turkeys down grocery store aisles at bowling pins.

Organizers said this all started because they wanted to find a new and creative way to give back to the community.

"We wanted to donate turkeys to the community and wanted it to be a variety of charities.  We also wanted to have some fun while we were doing it, and we let the celebrities choose where they want the turkeys to go to," said Vicki Baker who is the Owner of Grocery Outlet in Yakima.

Our team consisted of Yakima reporters Laura Murray, Chris Luther and Carl Hensley.

Together they got 13 strikes, which means 13 turkeys are being donated to the charity of their choice; Northwest Harvest.
